Treatment FAQs

What should I do if I run out of syringes or needles?

If you need more supplies, most local pharmacies carry insulin syringes and needles over-the-counter. If your shipment arrived incomplete, please contact us at support@yupmd.com, and our team will resolve it right away.

Is it safe to use a syringe or needle that fell on the floor?

If the needle is still sealed and the cap hasn't been removed, it should be safe to use. If the cap is off or the needle touched any surface, discard it and use a new sterile one to avoid any risk of contamination or infection.

Where should I inject my subcutaneous (SubQ) medication?

Subcutaneous injections are typically administered in areas where there's a soft layer of fat between the skin and the muscle. Common sites include:
  • Abdomen (at least 1 inch away from the belly button)
  • Outer thigh
  • Back or side of the upper arm
  • Upper buttocks
Be sure to rotate injection sites to help minimize skin irritation or tissue buildup. Your provider may offer guidance based on the medication you're using and what feels most comfortable for you.

What is the processing time for my prescription?

Once your intake is approved, your order is sent to our pharmacy partner for compounding. The process typically takes 2-3 business days. After that, medications are shipped directly to you with expedited delivery.

How do I contact my provider?

You can communicate with your provider through YupMD's secure patient dashboard. Once your consultation is complete, you'll be able to send follow-up questions and receive updates through our private messaging system.

What should I do if I'm having a medical emergency?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency or any urgent symptoms, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. YupMD is not an emergency provider and cannot offer crisis or emergency support through our platform.
